Sun Tours Madagascar

Booking conditions

These are the conditions your trip is booked on. We have kept them short and in plain English, because we would much rather explain something now than argue about it later.

Last updated 10 September 2026

1Who you book with

Your trip is arranged by Sun Tours Madagascar, a private tour operator based in Antananarivo and led by Mamy. The agreement is between you and Sun Tours Madagascar.

2What your price covers

Your quote lists exactly what is included, normally your private driver-guide, a comfortable 4x4, fuel, and the driver-guide's own accommodation. Optional add-ons on your quote are indications rather than fixed costs. You decide as you go and settle them locally during the trip.

Not included: international flights, travel insurance, visa fees, and anything your quote does not list.

3Confirming and paying

A deposit of 30% of the total reserves your dates. You pay it by bank transfer once you accept your quote, using the payment reference on your confirmation. The balance is paid on arrival in Antananarivo, at the start of your trip. Prices are in euro.

4Travel insurance

You must travel with insurance covering medical treatment, emergency evacuation and repatriation for the whole of your trip. Madagascar's parks are remote and an evacuation is slow and expensive to arrange without cover. We may ask you to confirm you have it before you travel.

5Passport, visa and health

Making sure your passport, visa and vaccinations are in order is your responsibility. We will tell you what we know, but requirements change, so please check with your own embassy and doctor before you travel.

6If you change or cancel

More than 30 days before departure: your deposit is refunded in full, or you can move it to new dates.

Within 30 days of departure: the deposit is not refunded, but it still counts toward a rescheduled trip taken within 12 months.

Once your trip has started, days or services you do not use cannot be refunded.

7If we have to change something

Madagascar's roads, weather and parks are not always predictable. If we have to change a hotel, a route or an activity we will use something of a similar standard and tell you as soon as we can. If the change is a major one and you would rather not go ahead, you can take an alternative we offer, or cancel and get back everything you have paid us.

8If we have to cancel

If we cancel your trip you get back everything you have paid us. We cannot refund what you booked yourself, such as flights, which is one of the reasons we ask you to be insured.

9Things nobody controls

Cyclones, storms, strikes, political events and epidemics happen. If one affects your trip we will do everything we reasonably can to keep it going or move it to new dates. Where money has already gone to hotels, parks or airlines and cannot be recovered, we cannot refund it.

10If you are delayed

If a late flight or a missed connection costs you a day, we will do our best to rework the plan. A day lost that way cannot always be replaced or refunded.

11If something goes wrong

Tell Mamy straight away, during the trip, so he has the chance to put it right. Almost everything can be fixed on the spot. If it is not resolved, write to info@suntoursmadagascar.com within 30 days of the end of your trip.

12Our responsibility

We take care of your trip as described in your quote. We are not responsible for loss, injury or expense caused by things outside our control or by your own actions, which is what your travel insurance is for.

13Which law applies

These conditions are governed by the law of Madagascar, where your trip takes place. If you booked as a consumer elsewhere, you keep any rights your own country's law gives you that cannot be signed away.

Anything here you are unsure about? Email info@suntoursmadagascar.com and we will explain it properly before you book.
